Health and wealth

Been a while since being on here, I blame a lack of time but more honestly it's more a misuse of time that kept me away.

We've been bouncing between healthy and a bit poorly in our house over the last few weeks, with each of us succumbing to a horrible cold (obviously Tom didn't let it bother him but I left my final wishes with him and Jo just in case I died) and here's hoping as spring comes we'll be feeling more alive.

I've also started noticing my body's fitness changing. I'm asthmatic but have been slacking in taking my meds recently as I try not to exert myself too much. That, combined with bus travel, office work, and a craving for cake, mean the bottom half of my body has started to, erm, grow. And my arms don't seem to be as strong as they used to, to the extend that I pulled a muscle in my shoulder the other day when trying to zip up a dress. I don't really mind having a little weight gain - it's about time! - and after a lean year or so with the stress and IBS I feel a bit more healthy with some meat on me.

But wobbling along coughing aside, I am trying to focus on gratitude at the moment. We all seem to forget when things go well how amazing that is, and the instant things go wrong we get mad. At the moment our laptop has died. This is extremely annoying because it is less than 2 years old, cost about £600, and we do so much with it that not having it makes things like banking a bit harder. But we are coping; computers at work suffice to allow us to check our accounts and order the food shopping. As a result of not being able to while away hours playing Freecell, I am now watching more interesting things on the TV and Netflix. I've started watching Breaking Bad, which is brutal and dark, but very good.

Wedding stuff: my mother-in-law-to-be is in her element planning some of the decorative sides of the day, which I'm not allowed to know about (fine by me!) and this weekend Tom has the lads and men together for suit fittings. Tom has nearly caught me up in being bored and fed up with planning expensive things and we are looking forward to September when it'll all be over! Of course the day will go well, but the hassles and stresses we've had to deal with along the way have been a nightmare. Here's hoping the rest of it all just comes together nicely.
